Best (physical) DRM free MP3 players [closed]

I'm looking to purchase an MP3 player soon. It should:

Be compatible with Windows Media Player
Hold at least 40 GB
Be completely DRM free
Be reliable and well built. I don't want to repeat my iRiver experience.
Be small enough to be comfortably carried in my pocket.

I don't care about looks, this can be the ugliest beast ever.

Knowing this, what should I buy?
